Designed for children and adults, Oh Rocking Furniture is a multi-functional piece of furniture that combines practicality with child education. Inspired by the concept of a rocking horse, this unique furniture piece offers a range of functions, including a chair, a cradle, a playground bridge, a secret playground for children, and a rocking horse. When three pieces are connected, they can also be used as a round table.
By incorporating various purposes into a single piece of furniture, Oh Rocking Furniture aims to stimulate children's curiosity, enquiring minds, and spirit of discovery. It provides a platform for children to engage in different actions and games, fostering their early childhood development.
In addition to its multi-functional design for children, the designers also considered the convenience of parental users. The height of the furniture is suitable for adults to sit on and interact with their children comfortably. The designers have also provided package options of characters, including a horse, sheep, dog, killer whale, and penguin, allowing children to choose their favorites.
The Oh Rocking Furniture is made from 100% white birch and features natural paints. The production process involves the use of CNC technology and simple woodworking techniques. The furniture is also adorned with character stickers to enhance its appeal to children.
The project was initiated in December 2014 and completed in January 2015 in Korea. The final product was donated to the Seoul Child Care Center, providing children in need with a unique and engaging play environment.
Oh Rocking Furniture was recognized for its innovative design and functionality, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Baby, Kids, and Children's Products category in 2015. This prestigious award celebrates designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving the quality of life.
